A really good friend of mine competed in the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion Competition this year and she asked me if I would shoot some profile shots for her. To be honest, this was a little out of my comfort zone as I can’t say I’ve really shot modelling pics other than merchandise shoots for clothing companies, so it was a nice new experience.

The dedication that Pheobe went through to get to the stage she was for the competition was incredible and it isn’t hard to photograph a subject like this, as I’m sure you can all agree.

I’ve never done one of these before and every year I watch a photographer called Ed Godden’s yearly slideshow which always makes me want to do one for myself.

Granted he takes a lot more photo’s than me because he does it for a full time job, and his photo’s are just incredible (if you don’t believe me click the link above to his website). We’ve hired him to shoot our wedding next year, which I am soooooo happy about and I’m actually looking forward to seeing the pictures more than I’m excited for the wedding itself, can I say that?…

Anyway, I put together this video of some of my favourite pictures I shot last year. I hope you enjoy it, its nearly 8 mins, so make yourself a brew, put your feet up and let me know what you think! I might make this a yearly thing as I’ve had quite a few nice comments about it already!

When Christmas takes place, everyone always says they need to make plans to see people, blah blah, but it never actually happens.

Well with my good friend Natalie, this is a tradition which we don’t like to skip out on. Especially as seeing my goddaughter is always something you don’t wanna stop happening.

This Christmas, we travelled up to their brand new house that they moved into literally about 3 days previously! Which was really nice to be given the tour by my little buddy Charlie.

I took my camera to get a couple of pictures, purely because I couldn’t believe how fast they were both growing up, it’s time like this that I’m really glad I’m a photographer and I’m sure my friends with children are too….

Over Christmas I had some time off, and one morning I woke up, opened the curtains and there was snow! Not much of it, but it’s South England, I’ll take what I get.

Now having a dog like Opie, who is half husky, I could tell by the look in his eyes that he needed to be out in it. I also had a text from Meche that simply read “please take some pictures of Opie in the snow today”….

I mean, I’d be a pretty shit photographer if I didn’t do exactly that.

So I might be a bit biased, but my goddaughter is probably the cutest child alive (just a little biased maybe), so when Natalie asked me if we could do a birthday photo shoot for her, I was stoked of course.

The original idea was a “cake smash” shoot, but if you look at the pictures below, you’ll see a distinct lack of cake smashing pictures…. It didn’t really go to plan, int he fact that Immy didn’t even want to touch the cake, let alone smash it. Instead she wanted to eat a ham wrap. It’s actually pretty difficult to work with 1 year olds…

That said, below are a couple of pictures of her not smashing a cake.
