As the following years, theLAB have been sponsoring and attending Endless Summer VW Show in Basingstoke.
Every year this show is getting bigger and bigger and every year theLAB do our best to raise as much money for the charity the show is supporting – Naomi House and Jacksplace, an awesome charity that provides expert hospice care to more than 280 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.
As usual, theLAB, as official sponsors of the event and also designed and printed a LTD Edition T-Shirt complete with a LTD edition sticker for the event.
I put together this short video to showcase the day. Enjoy!

I was asked to shoot this wedding by an old friend of mine, which was very special. It’s always nice to have someone trust you enough to capture their special day, but when you haven’t seen friends in a long time and then you capture their day and see how much everyone has changed and grown as people, it make it that much more special.
Again, I had so many favourite photo’s to choose from this wedding and even though I am a massive fan of colour, a lot of the photo’s I shot this day really popped for me when I put them in Black and White.
It’s always nice to take my camera out to shoot things for fun, rather than just for business, which I have to admit, I didn’t used to do as much.
I love taking just my trusty 50mm and snapping at things like birthdays and social gatherings, the problem is other than uploading to my photography instagram page (@rosspennyphotography), I never update my blog on my website with anything. So I’ve grabbed a few pictures I’ve taken so far this year and decided to put them in the blog post, for you enjoyment, obviously.
Most of the pictures I take are of my friends children to be honest, kids are so much easier to shoot because unlike adults, when a camera is pointed at them, they don’t hide or force a “photo pose” and the shots come out a lot more natural, which if you haven’t noticed is definitely my favourite style.
One day my friends will probably get bored of me snapping them constantly, but for now, they’re probably just more happy they’re getting a load of photos of their kids growing up and not having to pay for them….
A really good friend of mine competed in the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion Competition this year and she asked me if I would shoot some profile shots for her. To be honest, this was a little out of my comfort zone as I can’t say I’ve really shot modelling pics other than merchandise shoots for clothing companies, so it was a nice new experience.
The dedication that Pheobe went through to get to the stage she was for the competition was incredible and it isn’t hard to photograph a subject like this, as I’m sure you can all agree.
I’ve never done one of these before and every year I watch a photographer called Ed Godden’s yearly slideshow which always makes me want to do one for myself.
Granted he takes a lot more photo’s than me because he does it for a full time job, and his photo’s are just incredible (if you don’t believe me click the link above to his website). We’ve hired him to shoot our wedding next year, which I am soooooo happy about and I’m actually looking forward to seeing the pictures more than I’m excited for the wedding itself, can I say that?…
Anyway, I put together this video of some of my favourite pictures I shot last year. I hope you enjoy it, its nearly 8 mins, so make yourself a brew, put your feet up and let me know what you think! I might make this a yearly thing as I’ve had quite a few nice comments about it already!
When Christmas takes place, everyone always says they need to make plans to see people, blah blah, but it never actually happens.
Well with my good friend Natalie, this is a tradition which we don’t like to skip out on. Especially as seeing my goddaughter is always something you don’t wanna stop happening.
This Christmas, we travelled up to their brand new house that they moved into literally about 3 days previously! Which was really nice to be given the tour by my little buddy Charlie.
I took my camera to get a couple of pictures, purely because I couldn’t believe how fast they were both growing up, it’s time like this that I’m really glad I’m a photographer and I’m sure my friends with children are too….
Over Christmas I had some time off, and one morning I woke up, opened the curtains and there was snow! Not much of it, but it’s South England, I’ll take what I get.
Now having a dog like Opie, who is half husky, I could tell by the look in his eyes that he needed to be out in it. I also had a text from Meche that simply read “please take some pictures of Opie in the snow today”….
I mean, I’d be a pretty shit photographer if I didn’t do exactly that.
So I might be a bit biased, but my goddaughter is probably the cutest child alive (just a little biased maybe), so when Natalie asked me if we could do a birthday photo shoot for her, I was stoked of course.
The original idea was a “cake smash” shoot, but if you look at the pictures below, you’ll see a distinct lack of cake smashing pictures…. It didn’t really go to plan, int he fact that Immy didn’t even want to touch the cake, let alone smash it. Instead she wanted to eat a ham wrap. It’s actually pretty difficult to work with 1 year olds…
That said, below are a couple of pictures of her not smashing a cake.
What can I say about this wedding that I got asked to shoot?…. It was extraordinary, no other words.
The venues for the whole day were incredible, especially the Reception, I’ve never seen something quite like it. The guests made me feel so welcome, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was just unbelievable and the Bride and Groom are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
It was really hard to choose a handful of pictures to post here, dare I say it was my most favourite wedding I’ve been to at risk of upsetting everyones wedding I’ve been to or worked at?…
I was asked to take some photo’s for a mum of someone I went to school with, at a lovely little pub on the outskirts of Newbury.
It was a lovely day and you could really feel the love within the family which was beautiful.
Below are a couple of my favourite shots from the day.
